THE PYRAMID MODEL FOR PROMOTING SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL COMPETENCE IN INFANTS AND YOUNG CHILDREN
June 15 @ 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Come join us for this interactive training as highlights from the Pyramid Model are shared. The pyramid model is a framework of evidence-based practices for promoting young children’s healthy social and emotional development. It works in conjunction with your program’s curriculum. We will briefly explore each tier of the pyramid. You will leave with a deeper knowledge of the pyramid model, strategies for building relationships with children and their families, classroom materials and practices that promote social emotional learning, techniques to teach self-regulation, problem-solving, friendship skills. Strategies to help you look at what the child may be communicating with the challenging behavior will also be explored. Many of the strategies may help prevent challenging behavior through setting up your learning environments to provide opportunities for all children to develop, practice and learn social emotional skills that will support them throughout their lives.
