PEARLS Emergency Response System is Coming to Lake County! |
|
Attention Lake County Childcare Providers!
We are pleased to contact you with information regarding ELC’s new program, PEARLS, Preschool Emergency Alert Response Learning System.
The Coalition is partnering with the Office of Early Learning and the Cradle to College Foundation to implement a training for childcare providers to learn how to handle emergency situations.
In addition to providing training and awareness of potential dangers, we are also establishing a notification system. The Coalition is proud to serve along side of our local law enforcement agencies to provide a notification system for Lake County childcare facilities. When activated, local law enforcement personnel will notify the Coalition of significant police activity occurring within Lake County. Once notified, the Coalition will then send out a phone notification to alert the childcare providers within approximately a 2 mile radius of the significant police activity.
Once notified, it will be up to the center owner or director’s discretion (or that of their assignee) to determine how to best handle the situation. We encourage you to sign up for our training and develop a plan of action for potential scenarios well in advance of any occurrence. We sincerely hope that there will not be a need for a notification call or implementation of a plan, but still we feel that we must Educate, Prepare and Protect and be ready if a situation calls for action.
We invite you to sign up for the training by clicking the sign-up button below. |
