First Things First: The Connection Between Brain Development and Behavior

September 16 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Early childhood is a time of tremendous brain development. In fact, 90% of brain growth and development occurs by age five. Despite this massive amount of brain growth, children cannot learn everything at once. We will explore the structures of the brain, when they develop, and how each part of the brain affects a child’s behavior. Environmental and other biological factors affecting behavior will also be discussed. The second half of the day will be used to discuss and practice effective behavior management techniques and strategies.
