DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Job Function: Pre-K/VPK Teacher

Duties and Responsibilities

• Nurture and guide children to promote their social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual growth
• Ensure the health and wellbeing of all children at all times
• Establish and maintain a respectful relationship with parents, families and co-workers
• Follow and adhere to curriculum; learn to plan and implement age appropriate lessons        and activities
• Follow guidance of Lead Teacher
• Maintain compliance with CSF, DCF and Real Life policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Preferences

• Professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
• HS diploma or GED
• Interest in furthering education; CDA, FCCPC or degree in field
• Have or obtain DCF state mandated training within first 90 days of employment
• Have or obtain First Aid/CPR certification, Bloodborne Pathogens and Fire Extinguisher    training
• Complete Literacy requirement within 180 days of employment
• Have or obtain training on the CLASS ( classroom assessment scoring system)
• Required annual in-service training/CEU’s and training as required for professional    growth
• Minimum 1yr. experience as a teacher assistant or substitute in an early learning          environment.
