SUMMARY:Rescheduled: Virtual Training: ACES: Adverse Childhood Experiences in the Classroom Part 1
DESCRIPTION:The objective of this training would be to help teachers understand emotional and physical stressors that are traumatic to children and how a child with a higher ACE score may react differently to intervention than those without. A key component will also help attendees understand how exposure to adverse childhood experiences impact people psychologically and medically throughout the lifespan. This training will be broken up into 2 parts (11/9/21 and 12/7/21): 1. The ACE Study and how trauma impacts the body and a child in the classroom 2. How to be trauma informed and respond to a child’s needs in the classroom. \nClick Here To Register \nAmanda Cypret\, LMHC\, RPT-S\, QCS(FL) has been working in Florida’s mental health field since 2009. She attended the University of Central Florida and Webster University to receive her degrees and certificates. Amanda is a Qualified Supervisor for mental health interns and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. She currently works at LifeStream Behavioral Center\, a non-profit community mental health agency\, as the Children’s Outpatient Director overseeing a children’s outpatient therapy program that serves hundreds of children and families in schools\, homes\, and outpatient offices.  Amanda has received extensive training and supervision in play therapy including Child Centered Play Therapy\, Adlerian Play Therapy\, and Child Parent Relationship Therapy. She has participated in securing multiple grants to bring quality play therapy programs to the community. These grants have allowed the collection data to support the effectiveness of these play therapy practices. Amanda has been putting on trainings for parents\, teachers\, therapists\, and community agencies for over 11 years. Amanda also teaches Masters Level Play Therapy and Internship courses as an adjunct instructor at the University of Central Florida. She has an intense passion for play therapy and working with families to strengthen child parent relationships and enjoys spreading this passion with people in the helping profession.
