SUMMARY:PEARLS Emergency Response System Training
DESCRIPTION:PEARLS Emergency Response System is Coming to Lake County!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAttention Lake County Childcare Providers!  \nWe are pleased to contact you with information regarding ELC’s new program\, PEARLS\, Preschool Emergency Alert Response Learning System. \nThe Coalition is partnering with the Office of Early Learning and the Cradle to College Foundation to implement a training for childcare providers to learn how to handle emergency situations. \n  \nIn addition to providing training and awareness of potential dangers\, we are also establishing a notification system. The Coalition is proud to serve along side of our local law enforcement agencies to provide a notification system for Lake County childcare facilities. When activated\, local law enforcement personnel will notify the Coalition of significant police activity occurring within Lake County. Once notified\, the Coalition will then send out a phone notification to alert the childcare providers within approximately a 2 mile radius of the significant police activity. \n  \nOnce notified\, it will be up to the center owner or director’s discretion (or that of their assignee) to determine how to best handle the situation. We encourage you to sign up for our training and develop a plan of action for potential scenarios well in advance of any occurrence. We sincerely hope that there will not be a need for a notification call or implementation of a plan\, but still we feel that we must Educate\, Prepare and Protect and be ready if a situation calls for action. \n  \nWe invite you to sign up for the training by clicking the sign-up button below.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClick here to Register

SUMMARY:CLASS Overview: Infant and Toddler
DESCRIPTION:  \nIn this interactive\, hands-on session\, we will gain a working knowledge of the CLASS tool for both infants and toddlers. We will first examine the importance of a high relational climate within an infant environment. We will also examine how building strong relationships\, communicating\, and being sensitive to the needs and cues of infants effects their development of milestones. Infants learn by exploring their environment and knowing there is a secure base for them to check back into. While infants are making huge motor growth\, they are having even larger unseen growth cognitively and in language development. We will actively explore strategies to aid infant caregivers in making their environment the highest quality care for infants. In a toddler classroom\, teachers need to ensure they have a strong relationship established due to the beginning of separation anxiety and stranger danger. As toddlers are going through changes\, teachers must provide behavioral and emotional supports to meet their needs. In addition to these items\, they must have an environment that supports their quickly developing cognitive and language skills. We will explore techniques and strategies using the Toddler CLASS tool that will support teachers\, parents\, and above all the toddler. \nOutcomes: As a result of this workshop\, participants will be able to: \n• define responsive caregiving and how it should look within their environment.\n• utilize CLASS techniques to improve the emotional sensitivity and learning environment within their classroom. \nIf you still need a reason to attend all participants will leave with items to utilize in their classrooms!  \n Click here to Register
