About Us
The Lake County Coalition is among 31 organizations in Florida established by state legislation in 2000 through the School Readiness Act. The Coalition provides a variety of innovative early childhood education and Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten for children ranging from birth to age five, as well as after school programs for children to age twelve.
The Coalition contracts with LifeStream Behavior Child Care Choice Services (CCCS) to provide child care resources and referrals for families in Lake County. CCCS works directly with child care providers to oversee the reimbursement process for school readiness and VPK services, attendance monitoring, health reviews, developmental screenings and assessments, ongoing provider support and trainings, as well as technical assistance as needed. In addition to helping parents find child care services, the staff of CCCS also provides case management and family support for their clients.
Child Care Choice Services also works with parents to determine eligibility for subsidized child care. This School Readiness program is designed to provide financial assistance to parents for child care while striving to become self-sufficient. The program is based on family income and family size as determined by the federal income poverty guidelines.
